Why home-hospital bed sheets are a separate size

Changing a bed with someone in it is a two-minute job with the right sheet and a fifteen-minute job with the wrong one. Why full-perimeter elastic matters on hospital bed sheets

Because the bed articulates, elastic runs the full perimeter rather than the corners only. A sheet that lifts each time the head section raises is not a comfort issue on a care bed — it is a skin-integrity one, since rucked fabric under a person who cannot easily reposition creates exactly the pressure points everything else is working to avoid. Why the 60/40 cotton-polyester blend

Fabric is chosen to hold up to repeated hot washing at 71 °C. Pure cotton takes hot washes well but wears through faster at higher temperatures; the polyester content extends durability without significantly reducing breathability. The 200 thread count 145 gsm plain weave is dimensionally stable through 25 industrial wash cycles of durability testing.
