Why RV bed sheets are cut differently

An RV short queen is 60 × 75 inches, five inches shorter than the queen in your house. Bunks vary more still — often 28 to 34 inches wide and anywhere from 74 to 80 long, and rarely the same between two manufacturers. Which is why home bedding on a camper bed always ends the same way: excess fabric bunched at the foot, corners that will not hold, and a sheet you fight with in a space too tight to walk around the bed.

Why fast drying and small packed size matter on the road

Two things matter on RV bed sheets more than they do at home. Drying time — a campsite laundry or a small onboard washer means bedding needs to dry fast, which is why our fabric is specified light at 125 gsm rather than a heavier home-weight cotton. And packed size — storage in an RV is measured in inches, so a set that folds small earns its space. Our RV bed sheets fold to roughly the size of a hardback book.

Bunks — a fitted sheet on its own is often the better buy

For bunks, a fitted sheet on its own is often the more practical buy than a full set — children’s bunks rarely get a flat sheet in practice, and one less piece to fold in a small camper is one less piece to lose. Fitted sheets are also sold singly in every bunk width.

Measure before ordering

RV bed sizes are genuinely inconsistent between makes and years, and the label in the coach is not always right. Measure your mattress before ordering — width, length and depth — and match to the nearest cut. A close but wrong size will not seat properly and will come off overnight on the road.
