Silk Pillowcase
$49.99
Silk pillowcase in 100% 22-momme Grade 6A mulberry silk with an internal seam-taped envelope closure and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification. Our silk pillowcase is real Grade 6A mulberry silk (not sand-wash polyester “silk” or blend), which is the fibre that genuinely reduces friction on hair, skin and lash extensions.

Why the “silk pillowcase” market is mostly not selling silk
Silk pillowcases are the most-counterfeited product in the bedding category. Sand-washed polyester, silk-blend and “satin-finish microfibre” are all sold in the same photograph as real silk, and none of them do the job. Only real long-fibre mulberry silk reduces the friction that pulls hair, wears lashes, and creases skin overnight.
What 22-momme Grade 6A actually means
Momme is the weight measurement for silk (like GSM for cotton). 19-momme is the entry point; 25-momme is heavy dressing-gown weight; 22-momme is the pillowcase sweet spot — dense enough to feel substantial and to survive weekly washing, light enough to drape softly. Grade 6A is the top of the mulberry silk grading system: long, undamaged fibres, no short-staple filler.

The evidence behind the silk pillowcase claims
Independent trichology work has shown real silk reduces hair breakage compared to cotton — the friction coefficient is measurably lower. Dermatologists have observed the same for sleep-creases, and lash technicians recommend it on extension aftercare for the same reason: less pull, less shear, less overnight damage.

How to care for your silk pillowcase
- Hand wash in cool water with a silk-safe detergent (no enzymes, no bleach)
- Air dry flat, out of direct sunlight
- Iron on the silk setting on the reverse if a pressed finish is desired
- Skip fabric softener and enzyme detergents — both damage silk fibre
- Wash once a week — the pillowcase is against your skin all night
Frequently asked questions
Is a silk pillowcase good for hair extensions?
Yes — 22-momme mulberry silk has a measurably lower friction coefficient than cotton, which is the mechanism that reduces breakage on natural hair, tape-in and clip-in extensions.
Does a silk pillowcase help acne?
Real silk is less absorbent than cotton, which keeps skincare on your skin rather than in the pillow, and the low friction reduces mechanical irritation. Not a treatment for acne — a factor that helps.
What size silk pillowcase for a queen bed?
Queen 20 × 30 in. is the correct size. Standard 20 × 26 in. also works if your pillow is a standard.
Can I machine-wash a silk pillowcase?
Hand wash is safer. If you must machine wash, use a silk-safe detergent, cool, gentle, inside a mesh bag. Air dry always — no tumble.
