A sliding door is used as a door, several times a day, in summer constantly. Which makes it the one window in a house where the curtain’s open position matters more than its closed one — and where almost every installation fails, because the track was cut to the width of the glass and the stacked curtain now sits over a third of the opening.

On a sheer this matters absolutely: a seam in a translucent cloth is a dark vertical line that catches the eye at every hour of the day.

Weighted leading edge for draught management

Hem is 3 in. double-turned with a cord weight, and the leading edge is weighted separately — a wide sheer on a door catches every draught, and an unweighted leading edge will billow into the room whenever the door is open.
