Yarn-dyed cotton–linen

Yarn-dyed at the thread rather than surface-printed. A yellow that fades goes greenish under sun — one of the least attractive fades in cushion cloth. Yarn-dyed cotton–linen doesn’t do that.

Four yellows that behave differently in a room

Mustard is the deep, brown-shifted yellow — the anchor of the range. Gold is a warmer mustard with copper in it, for schemes with brass. Ochre is a matte earth-yellow, close to plaster. Butter is the softest, palest yellow — almost cream — the neutral end.
