Why full-perimeter elastic matters

Full-perimeter elastic is the difference between a fitted bed sheet that stays put for years and one that starts skipping a corner after six months, and it is the first thing to check when replacing a sheet that failed. Corner-only elastic fails progressively as one corner works loose, then another. Perimeter elastic distributes the tension evenly and stays on the mattress even when the mattress is deep.

Two measurements to take before ordering

Width and length are obvious. Depth is the one people skip: measure your mattress from the top seam to the bottom seam and add the thickness of any topper, then match that to the pocket rather than buying the deepest available. Surplus pocket bunches; insufficient pocket rides up. For pillow-tops and topped mattresses over 17 in., choose the extra-deep or our full deep pocket range.

Matching an existing set
