Why crib bed skirts need to adjust Every other bed skirt is fitted once. A crib bed skirt is fitted, then refitted, because the mattress base is lowered as soon as the baby can push up and again when they can stand — three or four times in two years, dropping the platform by as much as ten inches in total. A fixed-drop crib skirt is the correct length for a few months and then puddles on the floor for the rest of its life. How the adjustable drop works Our crib bed skirt attaches with a hook-and-loop strip that runs the full perimeter of the panel rather than the platform, so it can be re-hung at any height on the crib frame as the base comes down. It takes about a minute and needs no tools, which matters, because a skirt that requires the crib to be dismantled will simply be left at the wrong length. Fit it so that no part of the fabric can be reached from inside the crib — and once your child can pull to standing, check that the skirt has no loop or fold that a hand can get through from outside.
